This Week's Interesting Music Releases - May 10th, 2011
Two of the year's most anticipated indie rock albums are out tomorrow, Okkervil River's I Am Very Far and The Antlers' Burst Apart. Both will dominate "best of 2011" lists, and deservedly so.
This week brings a host of good music, I can also wholly recommend Wild Beasts' Smother, Thee Oh Sees' Castlemania, Sleepy Vikings' They Will Find You Here, Sloan's The Double Cross, Other Lives': Tamer Animals, Jesu's Ascension, Here We Go Magic's The January EP, Gang Gang Dance's Eye Contact, The Felice Brothers' Celebration, Florida, and Ben Sollee's Inclusions.
Holly Golightly & Dan Melichior's Desperate Little Town and Laura Veirs' The Triumphs and Travails of Orphan Mae head up the reissues. New vinyl editions from Prince (1999, Controversy, Dirty Mind), the Jesus and Mary Chain (Automatic, Honey's Dead) and Pearl Jam (remastered editions of Vitalogy and Vs.) are also in stores tomorrow.
